Texas Police Salaries ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at texaspolicesalaries.com.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Contact Form Data: When you submit a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and department affiliation that you voluntarily provide.
- Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including page views, device type, browser information, approximate geographic location, and referring URLs.
- Behavioral Analytics: We use Microsoft Clarity to capture anonymized session recordings and heatmaps showing how visitors interact with our pages (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement). Clarity automatically masks input fields and sensitive content by default.
- Salary Data: We use Firebase and Firestore to store and retrieve police department salary data displayed on our website. This data is publicly available information and does not include personal user data.
- Chatbot Conversations: When you use the on-site help chatbot, the messages you send and the bot's replies are stored in our database along with a per-session identifier. We use this to improve answer quality and identify topics that need better coverage. We do not collect your name, email, or IP address through the chatbot, and we do not share these conversations with third parties beyond what is described in Section 3. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Respond to Inquiries: We use contact form submissions to respond to your questions, feedback, and requests for information.
- Improve Our Website: Analytics data helps us understand how visitors use our website so we can improve content, navigation, and user experience.
- Update Salary Data: Information submitted through our contact and update forms helps us keep department salary data accurate and current.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process data:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to analyze website traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized data. You can learn more about how Google uses data at Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session replay. Clarity collects interaction data (clicks, scroll depth, mouse movement) and may use cookies. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement. To opt out of Clarity tracking globally, install a tracker-blocking extension; Microsoft does not currently provide a per-site opt-out URL.
- Firebase / Firestore: We use Google Firebase and Firestore to store and serve salary data and chatbot conversation logs. Firebase may collect technical data such as IP addresses and device identifiers for security and performance purposes.
- Anthropic Claude: The on-site chatbot is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Messages you send to the chatbot are transmitted to Anthropic to generate replies. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- EmailJS: We use EmailJS to process contact form submissions. When you submit a form, your name, email, and message are transmitted through EmailJS to deliver your inquiry to us.
4. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to enhance your browsing experience:
- Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics places cookies on your device to collect anonymized usage data, such as pages visited and time spent on the site. Microsoft Clarity may also place cookies for session reconstruction.
- Session Cookies: Temporary cookies may be used to maintain your browsing session and ensure proper website functionality. These cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect some website functionality.
5. Data Security

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
